Week of March 6

Important Dates:
After school activities happening this week:  Art Club, Ski Club, Choir, Tutoring, and Good News Club
Monday, Feb. 27th: SEL Assembly 9:00

Friday (3/10): NO School  


What we will be working on 
Reading:  This week we will finish reading different myths.  Skills will focus on summarizing, cause and effect, and sequence of events. 
Writing:  Students will be finishing their illustrations for our class book.
Math:  We will be finishing up Chapter 8-TEST.  Then we will begin Geometry.

Social Studies:  The focus is on Alaska and we will begin learning about the Iditarod.
Science: We will continue with the water cycle and our class science fair project.  STEM night will be March 24th.  

Homework This Week
Students received last Friday:  Fluency, Science Fair Packet, Spelling
Daily: Minute Math, Read 20 min.
NO Vocabulary this week.

Week of February 27

Important Dates:

Monday, Feb. 27th:  Wear Crazy Socks
Tuesday, Feb. 28th:  Wear your Favorite Hat
Wed., (3/1):  Wear mismatch or inside out
  clothes.
Thursday (3/2): Dress like twins with a friend
Friday (3/3):  Wear green or spirit wear

-Variety Show @ 6:30, bring your child to the Richardson Base Theater @ 6

What we will be working on
Reading:  This week we will begin to read different myths.  Students are introduced to Greek mythology.  Skills will focus on summarizing, cause and effect, and sequence of events.
Writing:  Students will be finishing their illustrations for our class book.
Math:  We will be finishing up Chapter 8 this week-Fractions.  Math test is scheduled for Friday.

Social Studies:  The focus is on Alaska and we will begin learning about the Iditarod.
Science: We will continue with the water cycle and our class science fair project.  STEM night will be March 24th.  More information soon to come.

Writing:  This quarter the focus is descriptive Writing and Poetry.
Math:  We will begin Chapter 8 this week-Fractions.

Social Studies:  The focus is on Alaska and we will begin learning about the Iditarod.
Science: We will continue with the water cycle and begin a class science fair project.  Students will go through the scientific method.

Week of January 30

What we will be working on …
Reading:  This week we will be finishing fairy tales then start our unit in fables.
Writing:  This quarter the focus is on Narrative and descriptive Writing and Poetry.
Math:  We will continue Chapter 7 this week.  Students will focus on dividing by 7, 8, and 9.  We are close to finishing the chapter.  Chapter Test will be next week.

Social Studies:  We have started looking at the geography of Alaska.

Science: We will begin with the water cycle.  Last week students observed a model on how the water cycle works.  This week we will go more in depth.

Reading:  This week students will learn about the characteristics of fairy tales.
Writing:  This quarter the focus is on Narrative Writing and Poetry.
Math:  We will continue Chapter 7 this week.  Students will focus on dividing by 4, 5, 6, and 7.

Social Studies:  We have started looking at the geography of Alaska.
Science: Science kits are here! We will begin with the water cycle.
